Subscribe to School Messages

How do parents/guardians subscribe and opt-in for school messages - If parents want to receive all messages from their school, they need to complete both of these steps:

1 | Subscribe online for commercial messages by entering their email address at cbe.ab.ca/subscribe. They must use their primary email on file at school.
2 | Opt-in for text messages by texting the word YES to the six-digit number 978338. The cell number must be on file at the school. (Text opt-in instructions are also explained at cbe.ab.ca/subscribe.)

Holiday Hampers

As the holiday season approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to share the SE Calgary Community Resource Centre application form for Holiday hampers.  If you are in need of a little help this holiday season and would like to apply, please complete the attached form under Resources and return it to Sherwood School by November 10 so we can get them submitted before the deadline .  Please be sure to complete all questions on the form. A hard copy can be returned to the office or completed forms can be emailed to Sherwood@cbe.ab.ca.

Parking

Reminder that the School parking lot is for staff only; the community center is welcoming parent parking, when picking up, dropping or visiting Sherwood.

Halloween Info

On Wednesday Oct 31 students are invited to wear their costumes for the day.

There will be a few costume competitions

• Scariest costume
• Best Homemade costume
• Most Original costume
• Funniest costume

One from each category, in each homeroom will be chosen to compete with the others selected in the same category from the other homes – Please no masks, weapons, or substances like (but not limited to squirting blood.)

We welcome treats for classroom celebrations, but ask for them to be store bought and not homemade.

Please remind students to be respectful and considerate of others costumes or choice not to wear one.

This is a good time to remind students to look with their eyes not their hands.

Wednesday Nov 1 is the School Councils AGM Meeting at 6:30 PM.

Happenings

Sherwood is excited to have basketball back at our school.  CBE Students are welcome to watch the first game at 4:30 pm. All students who wish to attend other games MUST be accompanied by their parent/guardian.
