Happy New Year! We enjoyed re-connecting with our students and getting back into a routine this week.
We have started a story writing unit in Language Arts. We discussed perspective this week and imagined a re-telling of the story of the Three Little Pigs from the wolf's point of view.
In Math, we are wrapping up our unit on measurement, focusing on area and perimeter. Students will be tested on their knowledge on Thursday, January 15th.
We have been learning about coding in Science. Students practiced block coding in Scratch, and have also been experimenting with Ozobots. It's exciting to see their creativity!
January is all about volleyball! Students have been practicing their volleyball skills in PE. A number of our girls successfully tried out for the junior girls' volleyball team.

2025 is a wrap! We had a lot of fun this week celebrating our school spirit! This morning, a few students were able to enjoy a performance of the Grinch.
We finished reading Hatchet this week, and watched a movie adaptation of the book on Thursday. Ask your student what they thought of it, and what differences they noticed from the book!
This morning we built gingerbread (graham wafer) houses. Enjoy these pictures of the fun!

The days are flying by in Grade 6! Thank you to everyone who donated for the food drive. We had a lot of fun building Hatchet-inspired structures in the gym with all of our donated food.
