Sherwood School Artist in Residence Program
In 2027, Sherwood School will proudly celebrate 70 years of learning, belonging, and community. To mark this milestone, we are partnering with Calgary-based Blank Page Studio for an Artist-in-Residence project that will bring students together to help create a permanent outdoor mural. Painted in spring 2027, the mural will honour Sherwood’s history and community while reflecting the voices, identities and hopes of today’s students and looking toward the future. Your donation will help us create more than a mural, it will create a lasting legacy designed with our students, for our community, and for generations to come.
Sherwood School Physical Space
Help us enhance our physical spaces to create a setting that is functional, affirming and responsive to the diverse needs of our learners, including:
- Flexible seating options (wobble stools, bean bag chairs, floor cushions)
- Fidget tools & sensory items
- Personal whiteboards and markers
- Motivational decals and affirming quotes in high-traffic areas
- Adjustable or ambient lighting solutions
- Indoor plants and natural elements to bring warmth & vibrancy
There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. Donating to Our School
Ways to give to our school include:
Monetary (cash) Donation
- I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
- Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
- Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
- I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
- Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
