What an exciting week, I would like to send a big shout out to Mrs. Brocklebank and her Leadership class for the Faboolus Halloween Carnival, the creative pumpkin carving contest, and the spooktacular halloween costume competitons.

Casino

Sherwood’s next casino fundraiser will take place on Saturday April 4 to Sunday April 5! This is our main form of fundraising at Sherwood and all money raised goes towards enhancing classrooms and educational programming for your children. Please save the date and consider volunteering some of your time that weekend. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months!

Holiday Hampers

As the holiday season approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to share the SE Calgary Community Resource Centre application form for Holiday hampers. If you are in need of a little help this holiday season and would like to apply, please complete the attached form and return it to Sherwood School by November 10 so we can get them submitted before the deadline . Please be sure to complete all questions on the form. A hard copy can be returned to the office or completed forms can be emailed to Sherwood@cbe.ab.ca

Parking Lot Usage between Sherwood and Banting and Best Schools

We kindly request all parents and guardians to refrain from using the parking lot located between Sherwood and Banting and Best Schools for pick-up and drop-off activities. This area is reserved for staff vehicles only, and congestion can lead to safety concerns. We appreciate your cooperation in using designated drop-off zones and nearby street parking to ensure a safe environment for all students. The community center is welcoming parents parking, when picking up, dropping or visiting Sherwood.

Daylight Savings Time - November 5

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 5th. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on November 4th. This extra hour of sleep will help everyone start the week refreshed.

Fall Break - November 9 to 14

Our Fall Break is quickly approaching, scheduled for November 9 to 14. It's an excellent opportunity for students and families to recharge and spend quality time together. Please note that school will be closed during this period, and classes will resume on November 15th.

Weather

Please make sure students are dressed for the weather, have both indoor and outdoor shoes. Layers work best as students will be both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.

Lost and Found

Please make sure that your child(ren) look at lost and found, it will be donated Dec 7, 2023.

Happenings

Sherwood is excited to have basketball back at our school. CBE Students are welcome to watch the first game at 4:30 pm. All students who wish to attend other games MUST be accompanied by their parent/guardian.
