Outdoor Education Climbing Trip
Our Outdoor Education students embarked on an exhilarating climbing journey this week, scaling new heights both literally and figuratively. Our students demonstrated resilience and teamwork, fostering a culture of empathy and responsibility, their enthusiasm and camaraderie was truly inspiring.
Dig Fest
Last weekend, Sherwood Middle School hosted the DIG Fest Volleyball Tournament, and I must say, the energy was electric! Our tireless educators and dedicated teams showcased outstanding sportsmanship; a true testament to the positive culture we foster at Sherwood.
Ice Skating – Field Trip
Our PE students are lacing up their skates for an entire week of icy adventures at the community arena. Laughter echoes through the rink as they glide gracefully, embodying the Archer spirit of wellbeing and community.
Save the Date - Parent-Teacher Conferences on March 21 and 22!
We're excited to announce that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on March 21 and 22. This is a valuable opportunity for parent(s)/guardian(s), students, and teachers to celebrate learning and plan next steps together.
Booking for conferences will open on March 13 allowing you to schedule your meeting at your convenience. Conferences will be held in the classrooms, so please arrive on time for your conference. If you need to make an alternate arrangement with your child's teacher, please email them directly.
Please ensure that at least one parent/legal guardian in every family has an active MyCBE account. If you haven't created your account yet, please visit MyCBE to do so.

Save the Date - Sherwood Spirit Week March 15 - 21
Get ready to show your Sherwood spirit during our upcoming Spirit Week! From March 15 to 21, students are encouraged to participate in the dress-up contest for a chance to win prizes for their homerooms.
Spirit Dress Schedule
- Friday, March 15: Dress in Green for St. Patrick's Day
- Monday, March 18: Jersey Day
- Tuesday, March 19: Dress like a Teacher or Student Day
- Wednesday, March 20: Formal Day
- Thursday, March 21: PJ Day
- Friday, March 22: No School!
For each day that students dress according to the "Spirit Dress Code" schedule, their homeroom will earn 1 point. The homeroom with the most points at the end of Spirit Week will win exciting prizes!

Calling all kids aged 3-18
We're thrilled to announce that an Australian Football Club, based right here in Calgary, will be offering free sessions every Thursday from 6pm –8 pm at A.E. Cross School.
Led by coaches from the Australian Football Canadian Women's National Team, this program offers students an incredible opportunity for mentorship and guidance from some of the best in the country.
Participants will have the chance to showcase their skills in a game at halftime during the AFL Alberta Club team Stampede Cup tournament on July 6, marking the conclusion of the program.

Casino Fundraiser
Sherwood’s next casino fundraiser will take place on Saturday May 4 to Sunday May 5! This is our main form of fundraising at Sherwood and all the money raised goes towards enhancing classrooms and educational programming for your children. Please save the date and consider volunteering some of your time that weekend. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months!
Scholastic Book Fair
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair the week of March 18 – 22. Last year our book fair raised over $1,500 which we used to buy new books for our learning commons and classrooms. If you would like to volunteer to help, make our event a success, please contact ejmcniven@cbe.ab.ca.
Volleyball Season
Reminder for fans - Volleyball season has begun. GO SHERWOOD GO!!!!
Students are welcome to attend the early games hosted at Sherwood but will need to be directly supervised by THEIR Guardian to stay and watch the late games.
Students will be asked to leave if they are not under the direct supervision of THEIR own Guardian at home and away games.
