Since 1956, Sherwood School has been a key part of the Calgary community, serving students from Lynnwood, Millican, Ogden, and Riverbend. We offer core subjects plus exciting electives like art, band, choir, drama, construction, foods, fashion, leadership, and outdoor education. Online Conferences

With labour action by CUPE Local 40 members limiting access to CBE schools after hours, the decision has been made to move March parent-teacher conferences online. 

Here is what you need to know: 

• If your child’s school has not yet scheduled March conferences, these will be booked online in MyCBE. 
• If your child’s school has already scheduled March conferences, you will receive an email this week confirming your date and time and providing a Microsoft Teams link for your online conferences. 

If your child’s school has conferences scheduled beyond March 2025, further communication will be provided if any changes are required.

Sherwood School Cultural Week

March 17-21: Join us in celebrating the many cultures that make up our school community during Cultural Week, happening March 17-21! Throughout the week, students will take part in exciting activities such as Guess the Flag, School Jeopardy, and more, as we honor and recognize our diverse backgrounds.

Food Truck Update for Thursday

We have 4 trucks confirmed.  Viet 2 Go, Perogy Boys, the Burrito and Kottu King.  They will arrive around 10 am to set up and prepare.  

11 am - Grade 4/5 students early lunch start

11:20 (ish) - Grade 6 

Lunch bell - Grade 7, 8 9 

The food trucks will be around until 12:30 PM 

CUPE Strike Update

The CBE is currently bargaining with CUPE Local 40, which represents support staff in our schools. While negotiations continue, we appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation.

At Sherwood, we remind students to follow The Archer Way by cleaning up after themselves and respecting our school environment. Keeping our hallways, classrooms, and shared spaces tidy is everyone’s responsibility.

Thank you for reinforcing these expectations at home and supporting our school community during this time.

Remember to place your orders 5 days before the lunch event.  Once the order is closed no changes or cancellations can be accepted.  Please remember that no food should be ordered from Skip the Dishes Door Dash etc, or any other restaurant on that day, for distribution to our students – let’s make this event special by enjoying the food available from Healthy Hunger and place your order before the deadline.
